Magnesium Isotope Materials
For decades since the 1960s, the NIST SRM 980 material served as a delta-zero material for magnesium isotope ratio measurements. However, in 2003, SRM 980 was demonstrated to be isotopically inhomogeneous at the 0.1 ‰ level. The magnesium delta scales need to be clarified in the near future.
|NIST SRM 980||elemental Mg||**|
|DSM3||nitrate solution||0.00(0.12) ‰|
|ERM-AE637||nitrate solution||+2.6 ‰|
|ERM-AE638||nitrate solution||+2311 ‰|
** See the Assessment of international reference materials for isotope-ratio analysis for more details.
Values in parenthesis are expanded (k = 2) uncertainties applicable to the last digits. The values listed in this table are compilation and are not necessarily CIAAW recommendations.
